Why Beeswax?
Beeswax candles are the best candles you'll ever use. What's so wonderful about beeswax?
Beeswax candles
are a renewable all natural product created by the honey bee, with no additives
or fillers and no paraffin from foreign oil - a "Green" form of candlelight
elegance. Beeswax candles will fill your home with delicate honey scents and
bright renewable candle light.
Unlike manufactured paraffin candles, beeswax is hypoallergenic, helpful for people with allergies or other sensitivities and for those of us who want an organic, clean-burning sootless candle in our homes. Beeswax is safe enough to eat, it's also used in cosmetics.

Candles - 8 inch pair
Hand dipped
pure beeswax candles
These hand made candles are perfect for your candle sticks. Beeswax, hand dipped,
100% solid beeswax tapers are long burning, dripless, smoke free and emit a
steady, bright flame. Approximately 8 hours each, $7.95 for a pair.
These Beeswax
Dinner Candles are 7/8" diameter to fit standard candlesticks.
We create our tapers using old world candle making techniques by hand dipping each pair repeatedly in melted wax to build up the perfect diameter. Each candle is dipped and cooled over twenty times before a pair is removed from the old-time oak rack used for dipping. When finished they carry the rich scent of wax and honey.
Keep out of
drafts when burning and away from fans - these tapers will burn virtually dripless.
Our hand-dipped tapers will burn dripless for more than one hour per inch. Base
diameter is 7/8". Cotton wicks - lead free - paraffin free.

Cotton Wick To keep our candles all natural and safe to burn, we use only 100% cotton wick in every candle. While most candle manufactures in the US no longer use lead core wicks, some of the imported and cheap paraffin candles found in stores may still contain lead wicks. Of course we want to avoid lead where ever possible. Our wicks are square braided pure cotton and have been selected for each candle to provide a bright flame and optimum wax pool for many hours of burning. |
Long
Burn Times Bee Hive Candles' solid beeswax candles are the most durable and long lasting candles you can own! They burn brighter, longer, and cleaner than any other type of candle. Compared by burn time, beeswax candles are usually a better value than paraffin, even when beeswax appears to cost more. Try our beeswax candles, the super long burn time will simply amaze you! |
| Naturally
Honey Scented Our beeswax comes direct from hives with the resulting wax is a beautiful shade of yellow that has a natural aromatic honey fragrance. We simply reshape the bees' creation; the color and the scent are created by the hardworking bees. We do not add anything to the wax and only filter out the large particles that could interfere with the flame. |
Smoke
& Soot Free No one wants their home to be covered in candle soot, which is a common result of burning paraffin candles. An excellent way to prevent this from occurring but still enjoy the beauty of a candle is to use beeswax candles. When burned in a draft free environment with a wick trimmed to 1/4" a beeswax candle will burn bright and clean without the smoke or soot. |
| Dripless While there are not any candles that should be allowed to burn unattended, beeswax candles burn safer than others with minimal maintenance. Beeswax candles are naturally drip free and do not require chemicals to make them dripless like paraffin candles. The molecular structure and higher melting point of beeswax makes beeswax candles much better at holding their wax pool. This fact combined with a properly maintained wick and draft free environment will prevent drips from occurring. |
Hand
Poured & Finished Honeybees spend a lot of time and effort to create beeswax. We continue the effort by hand dipping or pouring all of our solid beeswax candles. Some candle makers ship you their product directly after removing it from the mold, but we go the extra step to make your candle as beautiful as possible. After the candles have cooled in the molds they are carefully removed and rolled by hand to create a smooth finish. They are then packaged using minimal materials (all reusable and recyclable) to keep with our environmentally friendly concerns. |

Raw Beeswax. |
Filtered beeswax. We always lightly filter our beeswax using natural and safe materials such as cotton, this helps to remove any tiny particles in the beeswax that may clog the wick, while still retaining all of the natural beauty found in the beeswax. At Carlisle Honey we consider the light yellow color wax with appealing honey scent to be the perfect beeswax; it's wonderful to look at, pleasant to smell, and burns beautifully. |
| Bleached
beeswax. Bleached beeswax, commonly known as white or ivory beeswax, refers to the process of removing the natural yellow color from the beeswax. This can be achieved with chemicals such as hydrogen peroxide, naturally via the sun, or with special filtering processes. The filtering of the beeswax tends remove the pollen, while bleaching the beeswax simply takes the color out of the pollen without removing it. These processes remove most of the delicate honey scent and natural coloring of the beeswax, rendering it white and nearly odorless. Bleached beeswax is commonly used in cosmetic products where a highly refined beeswax is desired; it's also sometimes used to make scented or colored beeswax candles as it's easier to add color or fragrance in this form. |
